GAMA EC 2026 began the year with a meaningful community outreach at the Atlanta Gateway Center on Jan 24, 2026.

Below is a reflection from our President, John Mathai, on the experience:
When Coffee Becomes Compassion
Serving hot coffee to our unhoused neighbors on a cold winter morning at The Gateway Center in Atlanta, was a powerful reminder of the impact of simple acts of kindness.
A cup of coffee is something many of us take for granted—easily available, routine, even forgettable. But today morning, I found myself thinking about what it must feel like to crave something so simple without knowing when, or if, you’ll have it again.
In the simple exchange of a warm cup, a smile, and a “good morning,” there was so much humanity. With temperatures below 35°F, we weren’t just serving coffee—we were sharing warmth, dignity, and a moment of hope. The gratitude, resilience, and quiet strength we witnessed were deeply humbling and stayed with us long after the cups were emptied.
If this story resonates with you, consider finding a small way to give back—your time, your presence, or a simple act of kindness. Sometimes, showing up is enough.
