About

Founded in 1981, Greater Atlanta Malayalee Association or GAMA is one of the oldest and largest Indian expatriate organizations in the United States. GAMA strives to preserve and promote the Malayalee’s social, cultural, educational, literary and artistic heritage through its programs and initiatives.

The vision and commitment of a few dedicated families rooted down the Greater Atlanta Malayalee Association in Atlanta.GAMA was formed in 1981 when Mr. George Koovakkada took the initiative to contact a dozen or so Malayalee families in the Atlanta area and organized a meeting. From the first meeting in 1981, GAMA has grown to a large organization.

We welcome all Malayalee families who are present in Atlanta area to make GAMA a better organization. Main purpose of GAMA is to promote and spread the cultural, social and religious heritage of Kerala among our younger generation. We have a common goal to create a united Malayalee community.

GAMA is a completely volunteer-driven organization and our team are always looking for people who are interested in making a difference within Atlanta Malayalee community. Please email to secretary@gamaatl.org with your contact details and interests.
