Greater Atlanta Malayalee Association (GAMA) 2024 Executive Committee has worked with Malayalam Mission and opened a new Malayalam language chapter based out of Atlanta. This is inline with GAMA’s mission of preserving our heritage and ensuring that our kids have a good handle of the Malayalam language as they grow. This will also help us to promote, practice and encourage children to participate in cultural and social activities in our own native language. This will also help them in overcoming the language barrier and easily converse in Malayalam language with their Grand Parents or any other relatives back in Kerala/India. It also opens up the doors to a wide variety of great literature and wings to great dreams to be realized by our offspring.
The Malayalam Mission is a project started by the Government of Kerala under its Department of Culture to propagate the Malayalam language worldwide. The project aims to benefit non-resident Keralite children who are not aware of the culture and language of Kerala. The Mission endeavors to foster the creative talents of the children of expatriate Malayalees and inculcate in them a passion for the language and patriotism. The Mission offers certificate, diploma, higher diploma, senior diploma, and various other courses.
