2012 GAMA Volleyball Ever Rolling Trophy Tournament was held at St.Lawrence Catholic Church, 319 Grayson Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, on Saturday August 11, 2012. This year, eight teams have participated in the tournament. Team Atlanta, 2011 champions, led by Ruby won again and kept their championship. Dunwoody Blues won the second place. Congratulation to Team Atlanta for winning GAMA Ever Rolling Trophy in 2012.

Thursday, January 26, 2012 the Consulate of India in Atlanta celebrated the 63rd anniversary of India's Sovereignty as a democratic republic, with an event to offiicially announce the opening of its Atlanta consulate. It was hosted by the Honorable Ajit Kumar, Atlanta's first Indian Consul General and his wife, Margret.
Attendance by the Indian business community, selected invitees and media were present at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel to celebrate this auspicious event. Our President Mr.Manoj Thomas and Ex.President Mr. Biju Thuruthumalil were represent GAMA and reiterated our cooperation and support to the new consulate and Consul General

Nirupama Rao, officially inaugurated our Indian Consulate in Atlanta yesterday evening.During the inaugural function, President Manoj Thomas and Secretary Thomas K Eapen congratulated both The Ambassador and The Consul General for this great achievement.
GAMA EC Met with Union Cabinet Minister Honorable Shri.Vayalar Ravi at a Luncheon hosted by the Consulate General of Atlanta. The Greater Atlanta Malayalee Association (GAMA) is honored & privileged to receive our Overseas Indian Affairs Minister, Shri. Vayalar Ravi to Atlanta. GAMA, the only Malayalee organization with 31 years of tradition and heritage is proud to have the presence of a Malayalee Union Cabinet Minister here in Atlanta.
On May 12th GAMA celebrated '2012 family fun picnic' at Sweetwater Park, Lawrenceville. Dr. K. M. Mathew and Dr.Susheela Mathew inaugurated a day long event. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and the company was delightful. The 2012 picnic was well attended and enjoyed by all who were there and appreciated the taste of authentic Kerala breakfast and BBQ lunch.
There were lot of fun games throug out the day including a grand BINGO. Picnic ended at 6.00PM with tug of war competetion for GAMA Everrolling Tropy. 2011 Runners-up Joseph Elekkattu and team won GAMA EVERROLLING TROPY this year.
2012 GAMA Basketball Ever Rolling Trophy Tournament was held at St.Lawrence Catholic Church, on Saturday July 07, 2012. Judging from the comments of the teams, fans, referees, officials, and the members, they were very impressed with the hospitality and organizational depth of GAMA executive committee for gathering more than one hundred Malayalee youth on a single platform for an en-thrilled and challenged competition. GAMA former president Mr.Antony Thaliyath inaugurated the event and appreciated all the teams for their enthusiasm and team spirit. Atlanta Storm, 2011 champions, won again and kept their championship. Team Lights Out won the second place.
On March 3, Ambassador Nirupama Rao paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King at a reception at the King Center. The celebration was organized by The Gandhi Foundation and Hon Ajith Kumar, Consul General of India. Subash Razdan, Chairman Gandhi Foundation of USA, Antony Thaliyath Exe. Director of GFUSA and Ex President of GAMA, Manoj Thomas President of GAMA, Thomas Eapen, Secretary of GAMA and Biju Thuruthumalil, Ex.President of GAMA were among the attendees. H.E.Rao garlanded the Gandhi statue and toured the Visitor's Center and laid wreaths at the crypts of Dr. King and Mrs. Coretta Scott King. Ambassador Rao spoke about the relevance of Gandhian ideals in today's world and exhorted the audience to translate them into practice. She highlighted Gandhi's role in India's struggle for freedom and said his philosophy was relevant even today. She recalled Gandhi's influence on Rev. Martin Luther King in shaping the nonviolent movement for civil rights in the United States.

Greater Atlanta Malayalee Association (GAMA) inauguration function "nrithya Bharathi" took place on April 9th at Berkmar High School. The meeting was held under the guidance of Biju Thuruthumalil, GAMA President and Congressman Tom Price inaugurated the function. "Nrithyabharathi - a music, cultural program" by GAMA was a great success and viewers enjoyed the difference dance forms which showed kerala's culture as well as Indian culture.
